La Manga Club Golf Resort – GPX Route 2
Ride Overview
Need a punchy pre-lunch spin that still dishes up wow-factor scenery? Route 2 delivers. This 36 km coastal loop leaves La Manga Club, rolls west beneath the craggy ramparts of the Sierra de la Fausilla, then tackles the iconic ascent to Monte de las Cenizas before sweeping north-east through quiet campo lanes above the shimmering Mar Menor. Two short but testing climbs, balcony-road Mediterranean vistas and café-lined villages make it a perfect leg-sharpening circuit or an introduction to Murcian hill riding.

Historic coastal-battery guns (Batería de Cenizas) at the summit—great photo-op.
Mar Menor lagoon vistas from the ridge above Los Nietos.
Wild rosemary & lavender scenting the roadside in spring.
Rider Tips
Compact gearing (50/34 t or similar) keeps the 10 % ramp friendly.
Two small bottles are plenty; reliable fountains in Los Belones (km 16) and Los Nietos (km 24).
Roads are mostly newly resurfaced; 28 mm tyres feel plush.
Carry a lightweight gilet—descents can feel crisp, even on sunny days.
Load the GPX to Garmin, Wahoo or Komoot for offline nav in the sierras where phone signal dips.
