Murcia Bike Hire is run by the same experienced local team as OriMar Bikes. The two brands share the same premium fleet and service standards, with Murcia Bike Hire focusing on customers across the Mar Menor and La Manga areas.
We established our business in Spain in October 2018, following our purchase of the Murcia Bike Hire operation. Since then, we have focused on building a reliable, well-organised service for visiting cyclists who value high-quality equipment, clear information and realistic planning.
We are a small, owner-run business. Our approach is shaped by practical, day-to-day experience rather than marketing promises.
Based in Pilar de la Horadada, Focused on the Coast
Our operational base is in Pilar de la Horadada, close to the border between Alicante and Murcia and well positioned for both of our service areas.
From this base, Murcia Bike Hire serves customers across the Mar Menor and La Manga areas, while the same local team operates OriMar Bikes for customers staying on Orihuela Costa. Working from one central base allows us to prepare every bike carefully and manage deliveries and collections consistently across both brands.
Most Murcia Bike Hire deliveries are made to coastal resorts, hotels and holiday accommodation around the Mar Menor and La Manga. Requests outside our standard service area may sometimes be possible by prior arrangement and may incur an additional charge.
Our Approach to Service
We work hard to provide a smooth, well-organised experience, with clear communication at every stage. Cycling holidays involve logistics, expectations and real-world constraints, and we believe the best results come from honesty, preparation and mutual respect.
Our service works best when arrangements are clearly agreed in advance. By focusing on defined service areas, scheduled deliveries and clearly outlined inclusions, we can operate efficiently and provide a dependable experience for every customer.
Rather than making open-ended promises or relying on last-minute arrangements, we concentrate on getting the fundamentals right: careful preparation, realistic planning, clear communication and consistent service.
Our Bikes Selected for Coastal Riding
Our fleet is selected primarily for cycling around the Mar Menor and La Manga areas, where routes range from flat coastal roads to gently rolling inland terrain.
We operate BMC Teammachine SLR carbon road bikes, all supplied with standard 50/34 compact gearing. This setup makes them well suited to the predominantly coastal riding profile, while still providing the range needed for longer rides and inland routes.
Alongside our carbon road bikes, we are introducing a small selection of Fiido e-City and e-Gravel bikes. These will provide additional options for riders looking for assisted cycling along the coast, exploring mixed-surface routes or simply enjoying the area at a more relaxed pace.
Every bike in our fleet is professionally inspected, serviced and prepared before delivery, ensuring it arrives ready to ride.

Cycling Holidays & Group Bookings
Alongside bike hire, we also organise self-guided carbon road cycling holidays based around the Mar Menor coastal area.
These trips are popular with couples, private groups, and cycling clubs visiting for winter and shoulder-season riding. Group sizes typically range from 4 to 12 riders, with larger bookings arranged selectively.
Routes, accommodation, and logistics are planned carefully, with an emphasis on coastal access, manageable transfers, and clear daily structure.
