Los Alcázares – GPX Route 1
Ride Overview
Leave the palm-lined Mar Menor promenade behind and strike north-west toward Murcia’s citrus interior before tackling the winding Collado Ginovinos (max ≈ 370 m). A pine-scented ridge run drops you to the cobalt waters of Embalse de la Pedrera near Torremendo, then a fast, flat blast through San Javier completes this coast-to-campo classic. With 925 m of elevation packed into 86.78 km, it’s the ideal half-day challenge for riders craving a proper climb without committing to a full-blown mountain epic.

Ultra-low traffic once you clear the coastal strip—ideal for confident soloists & small groups.
Rider Tips
Hydration: Two full bidons; reliable fuentes in Balsicas, Torremendo square & San Javier.
Gearing: Compact 50/34 T with 11-30 T cassette; strong climbers manage 11-28 T.
Heat: South-facing slopes bake after 11:00—try to crest Ginovinos before midday in high summer.
Wind: Afternoon easterlies funnel along the lagoon—bank a gel for the last 12 km.
Navigation: Download the GPX to your Garmin/Wahoo; signal briefly dips behind the ridge.
